Counsellor Yael Greenberg BA; MSW; RSW.
I consider myself to be a caring and compassionate therapist working in the Hamilton area. My goal is to assist you in making positive changes in yourself and in your relationships within your family and others.
I have both lived and extensive professional experience helping children and youth with learning and emotional problems. My previous 16 years of professionally assisting children gave me the opportunity to ‘feel’ the stress these families undergo. As a clinical social worker, I draw from my experience and a commitment to professional excellence to support individuals and families with their difficulties.
My approach integrates family-systems, psycho-dynamic, mindfulness, and narrative therapies, and is personalized to meet your needs.
I am the sole provider in the Hamilton area that offers an evidence-based family therapy program which combines mindfulness, skill-learning and peer support. This program can be run in groups or individually. It is proven to help family members change unhealthy patterns of behavior by becoming more mindful and skillful about the emotions and reactions they are experiencing in the moment.
- I have an Honours Bachelors Degree from McMaster University, in Sociology.
- I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Windsor and completed an additional one year Post-Graduate Program in Family and Couple Counselling, at Family Services, Thames Valley, London ON.
- l was invited to join Patmos Counsellors and Associates in Hamilton as a professional counsellor in 2014, and have several years of experience counselling children, youth, abused women, and families.
